Changing electrodes – End mounted electrodes
VExA models:
Pull the cartridge out of the treater station.
Unscrew the central nut holding the wire lugs, and then remove the wire(s) coming from the faulty electrode(s).
Make sure to hold onto the washers and nut, as they should be put back on and tightened in the correct order when the new electrode(s) are mounted.
Loosen the bolts on both ends of the faulty electrode(s), and remove.
(You may need to loosen the bolts on one end-plate of the cartridge just a bit, to fit both ends of the new electrode.
This is due to the new silicone ends not being compressed, like the old silicone pads were.)
When installing the new electrode(s), make sure to position the wires away from the metal walls and the ceramic bar to prevent possible HV arcs.
The cable lugs and wires should be positioned like the picture when attached to the central metal piece. A plastic cable tie can be put loosely around the wires to hold them in place (do not tighten it too much).
Assemble the cartridge again just like it was taken apart.
Make sure that all bolts are tightened properly, but do not over-tighten them either.
