1. Error Overview

Definition: Sufficient airflow is not detected at the flow switch.

First, we have to state, that a correct dimensioned exhaust system is important, to ensure the correct operation of the treating equipment. Please reference our site prep guide if you have further questions about your exhaust setup.

2. Symptom Checklist

  • Systems with ceramic bar electrodes, these will not be properly cooled.
  • In case of too little extraction, the ozone created will not be properly removed.

3. Potential Root Causes

  • Sensor Failure
  • Blower Failure
  • Wiring Issue

4. Step-by-Step Resolution

  • First verify that the extraction fan is powered on when the system is started.
  • If the blower rotates check that the rotation direction is correct. In case of rotating in the reverse direction, the mains phases should be swapped
  • Check that the exhaust ducting and blower are not blocked by any objects, such as excessive dirt or pieces of plastic/paper.
  • Check that the pickup tube, for connecting the plastic tube to the pressure switch, is not blocked. This pickup is mounted on the flange, connecting the exhaust tube to the treater station.
  • See if the plastic tube, connecting the stud on the exhaust flange to the pressure switch is blocked by dust/dirt, or is mechanically damaged (bend). Try to blow it out with pressured air.
  • Check the pressure switch(es). These can be located either on the treater station or inside the main cabinet of the generator. See if the switch makes contact when either sucking or blowing through the plastic tube, the switch is considered OK – if not, the switch should be exchanged.
  • Check the setting of the sensor. If there is a warranty sticker on it, then skip this step.

5. Escalation

  • Contact support if you have checked these points and are still experiencing issues with the E6 error.
