What You’ll Need

  1. Vetaphone FW Updater – Step-by-step update guide
  2. VST_2_V2.0.8.zip – Firmware updater tool
  3. VDF File provided by Support - Email attachment in service ticket

 

Before Updating

  • Ensure the module is only powered via mains supply. No backup supply may be connected.
  • You will need:
    1. Windows laptop (Windows 10 or 11) with a USB connection.
    2. USB A to USB B cable.
  • Connect the laptop and the iPM power module with the USB cable.


 Firmware Update Steps


  1.  Install VST-2
    1. Run the VST_setup.msi file.
    2. Install the VST-2 tool (does not require administrative rights).
    3. A "Vetaphone" menu group and a desktop shortcut will be created
    4. Running VST-2
    1. Start VST-2 using the desktop shortcut or the Windows Start menu.
    2. When prompted for login, select "User" and press Login. (No password Needed)
    3. The program will load plugins and scan for connected devices.
    4. Connected devices will appear in the Device liston the right-hand side.
      • Do Not select the device yet.
  1. Running the Firmware Updater
    1. Go to the Tools menu.
    2. Click on Firmware updater. This will open the Firmware updater plugin.
    3. Now, select the connected device you want to update in the Device list.
    4. Press Yes to the prompt asking if the device should be assigned to this setup document.
  1. Load the Vetaphone Data File (VDF)
    1. Click on the “Open File” button.
    2. In the file dialog, browse to and select the VDF file (e.g., ipm100_200.vdf or another file supplied by Vetaphone support).
    3. Ensure the “Save FW” option is deselected (press the blue dot to deselect if it is active).
  1. Connect
    1. Click on the “Connect” button.
    2. After connection, the Update button will become active.
  1. Update
    1. Click the Update button.
    2. Wait for the update sequence to finish. This will take some time as it updates all firmware in the iPM module.
      • Note: The USB connection will disconnect and reconnect several times during the process.
      • Progress can be monitored in the status section.
    3. Parameters will be validated during the update process.
    4. When done, the status will show the message "done."

 

Post-Update Actions

    1. Disconnect the USB cable.
    2. Perform a power cycle (turn the iPM module off and then back on).
    3. The update is complete.
