What You’ll Need
- Vetaphone FW Updater – Step-by-step update guide
- VST_2_V2.0.8.zip – Firmware updater tool
- VDF File provided by Support - Email attachment in service ticket
Before Updating
- Ensure the module is only powered via mains supply. No backup supply may be connected.
- You will need:
- Windows laptop (Windows 10 or 11) with a USB connection.
- USB A to USB B cable.
- Connect the laptop and the iPM power module with the USB cable.
Firmware Update Steps
- Install VST-2
- Run the VST_setup.msi file.
- Install the VST-2 tool (does not require administrative rights).
- A "Vetaphone" menu group and a desktop shortcut will be created
- Running VST-2
- Start VST-2 using the desktop shortcut or the Windows Start menu.
- When prompted for login, select "User" and press Login. (No password Needed)
- The program will load plugins and scan for connected devices.
- Connected devices will appear in the Device liston the right-hand side.
- Do Not select the device yet.
- Running the Firmware Updater
- Go to the Tools menu.
- Click on Firmware updater. This will open the Firmware updater plugin.
- Now, select the connected device you want to update in the Device list.
- Press Yes to the prompt asking if the device should be assigned to this setup document.
- Load the Vetaphone Data File (VDF)
- Click on the “Open File” button.
- In the file dialog, browse to and select the VDF file (e.g., ipm100_200.vdf or another file supplied by Vetaphone support).
- Ensure the “Save FW” option is deselected (press the blue dot to deselect if it is active).
- Connect
- Click on the “Connect” button.
- After connection, the Update button will become active.
- Update
- Click the Update button.
- Wait for the update sequence to finish. This will take some time as it updates all firmware in the iPM module.
- Note: The USB connection will disconnect and reconnect several times during the process.
- Progress can be monitored in the status section.
- Parameters will be validated during the update process.
- When done, the status will show the message "done."
Post-Update Actions
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- Perform a power cycle (turn the iPM module off and then back on).
- The update is complete.
