Step 1: Safety First
Before you begin, make sure to turn off and unplug the Vetaphone system. This is crucial to prevent any electrical hazards during the replacement process. Additionally, allow the system to cool down if it has been in operation.
Step 2: Gather Necessary Tools
You will need a few basic tools for the replacement, including a screwdriver set, and a Allen key set. Having these tools ready will help streamline the process.
Step 3: Access the Generator
Locate the iCorona cabinet. Use your cabinet key to open the iCorona door. Once opened, you will have direct access to the iPM100 generator. A good tip, is to take pictures of the wires and plugs are mounted and routed, for use when installing the new unit.
Step 4: Unplug all cables
Remove all cable support clamps. and unplug all cables. pay special attention to how the cable support clamps are mounted. Plug X18 is mounted with 2 slotted bolts.
Step 5: Unmount the generator
Slightly loosen (do not unbolt them completely) the 2 Bahco bolts in the top, and the 2 Bahco bolts in the bottom, holding the generator to the cabinet wall. Lift up the generator module, and pull the generator towards yourself. Your generator should now be removable from the iCorona cabinet.
Step 6: Mount the replacement generator
Carefully insert the new generator in the iCorona cabinet. Once the generator module sets flat against the iCorona back. And the 4 mounting bolts are in place the the generator holes. Lower the generator cabinet to the finished position. Tighten the 2 Bahco bolts in the top, and the 2 Bahco bolts in the bottom.
Step 7: Mount the cable plugs
Insert all of the removed cable plugs, if you have taken pictures before removal, refer to the pictures for correct installation. Pay attention to mounting the wire support clamps on the stripped part of the cable jackets, for good connections. It is very important to remember mounting of the earthing cable to the generator, as this is a part of the high voltage safety.
Step 8: Final inspection
Inspect that none of the small wires in the plugs have come loose or unplugged during the installation. Mount the black cover plated and close the iCorona cabinet.
