1. Error Overview
Definition: The system has detected more than 3 flashovers within a one-second interval, triggering an automatic shutdown to protect the generator and station.
2. Symptom Checklist
Generator stops abruptly with an "E5" code on the display.
Visible or audible electrical arcing (sparks) within the treater station.
3. Potential Root Causes
Contamination: Buildup of dust, dirt, or process residue inside the station.
Moisture: High humidity or condensation on insulators (common after downtime).
Damaged Hardware: Pinhole leaks in the base roll covering or cracked electrodes.
Carbon Tracing: Conductive burnt paths on insulators or high-pressure (HP) cables.
False Reporting: Rare electronic ghosting.
4. Step-by-Step Resolution
- Deep Clean: Clean all insulators and electrodes thoroughly using high-purity alcohol.
- Inspect Roll: Rotate the base roll manually and check the covering for tiny pinholes or burns.
- Cable & Insulator Audit: Check HP cables and insulators for "carbon tracking" (black scorched lines).
- Moisture Check: In high-humidity environments, use dry compressed air to dry all insulators.
5. Escalation
- If the E5 error persists after cleaning and inspection, please prepare an escalation package for Support@vetaphone.com:
Photos Required: High-resolution images of the entire station.
Detail Views: Close-ups of all insulators, HP cable connections, and the electrodes inside the cassette.
Context: Mention if the error occurs immediately at startup or only at high power levels.
